I stole this from an LJ friend...

What Be Your Nerd Type?
Your Result: Literature Nerd

Does sitting by a nice cozy fire, with a cup of hot tea/chocolate, and a book you can read for hours even when your eyes grow red and dry and you look sort of scary sitting there with your insomniac appearance? Then you fit this category perfectly! You love the power of the written word and it's eloquence; and you may like to read/write poetry or novels. You contribute to the smart people of today's society, however you can probably be overly-critical of works.

It's okay. I understand.

8:50 am - The singing is terrible. But the point is valid!
Thanks to lizardjee (whose journal I can't link b/c my LJ fu fails me) linking a video by these same two, I came across this one:

The singing is terrible, but damned if they don't have the right idea. Please, please, PLEASE vote for Obama. Do not put this imbecile as #2.

10:43 pm - Today's Adventure
Was spending half the afternoon in the ER. I've been a mother for 6 years, birthed three children, and am raising 2 of them, and it finally happened. Somebody had to have stitches. Staples, actually... Ella built a "tower" in their room with their toybox and their dress, and Caty decided to climb it. And promptly fall off and bust her head open on the corner of their bookcase. And get a pretty deep inch and a half wide gash in the back of her head. So, yeah, that was a trip to the (very slow) Edmond, OK ER, where Caty received 4 staples in the back of her head. We have to go in 7-10 days to have them removed. And we have to wake her up every 2 hours tonight to make sure she didn't sustain a serious head injury... Oh, and she just vomited all over the couch, so we called the ER and they said if she throws up again to bring her back in. So keep your fingers crossed. Poor kid has been an absolute trooper all day, though. No crying, no messing with it. Only time she cried was when they stuck her for the local when they put the staples in.

Why can't motherhood just be easy?

6:50 pm - Sometimes, I really REALLY love my job.
Like for instance, when we go to manager's meetings and all the vendors come in to show us their new lines, and I walk away with $500 worth of toys for the cost of gas money to go to home office. :-D Not to mention all the promo stuff, like displays and t-shirts and totes and ball caps...

I got: )

Plus, the guy from Sportsheets totally humped me in front of the entire meeting b/c we were demonstrating the g-spot link. :-D (We had our clothes on, and he is gay, but DAMN...)

11:36 pm - Update Blog!
Thought maybe I'd throw an update blog out there for y'all.

Ella started kindergarten (*sniff*) in August. She is so big, and so smart. And no, I haven't been called for a Parent/Teacher conference yet. lol She's only gotten in trouble once, for kicking down her friend Aniston's blocks... lol Captain Destructo strikes again. Since when do they give kindergartners homework?? She has come home every week since school started with homework. I'm like "wtf? She's 5!" but we do it dutifully. She's learning to read. That's a hoot. It's a bit frustrating for me though b/c I want her to just "get it." I'm wondering if she's not showing some early signs of dyslexia b/c she gets d's, b's and p's mixed up. I'm trying not to freak out yet, but you know how I get. lol For the most part, though, she's doing really well with it. The kid is finally starting to eat, and is now eating me out of house and home. lol She's getting the cutest little pouchy belly. The short hair is finally starting to grow on me. Or it's growing out a bit where it's not so so short anymore. Either way, I'm starting to dig it. She's been a very good big sister for the most part. Caty is her little shadow, though, and she gets annoyed by that sometimes. All in all, she's doing very well.

Caty is... well, Caty. She's somewhat laid back and easygoing, but I worry about her. She seems the type to appear to play the casual observer when she is, in fact, running the entire show. lol She is going to be the mastermind, I'm afraid. The dynamic between her and Ella is a lot like what Chris's mom has described to me as the dynamic between Chris and his older brother. She's getting so big. She LOVES daycare. We pull up, and she's already trying to undo her seatbelt. She grabs her backpack (or "pack pa" as she calls it) and runs for the door when I say "Let's go!" in the morning. I'm afraid she didn't keep her promise to stay cute and little, the little traitor. She's getting soooo verbal. She can say a ton of word. Whether or not she WILL is another matter entirely. She's a twerp that way. She runs to the door of the daycare and screeches "ALOLU!" (I love you) across the parking lot every morning, then jumps up and tries to open the door till Daddy helps her.

Chris and I: eh, pass, thanks. LOL It's ok. There's not as much open hostility as usual, which is good, I guess. But I think it's mostly b/c neither of us really cares anymore. We're like roommates. Is this normal? Eh... Who knows?

Work is ok. I'm super stressed. I got a promotion a few weeks ago and am now managing my own store. The hours are good (except having to pay for daycare. GAWD! That's absurdly expensive), but I'm having to commute till October, which sucks. It's like half an hour and 200 bucks a month in gas till then. There's a ton more paperwork and just bullshit kinda stuff, dealing with employees and stuff. All in all, I really love it though. It's just a big change, very quickly, and I don't adjust well. I've had to give up a few things. One or two of them really killed me, and that part doesn't seem to be getting better, but it's only till October, so I'm trying really hard to deal with it. I'm just really excited I got promoted in under a year. I'm really kinda proud of myself. I keep waiting for somebody to be like "Yeah, just kidding! You suck. You're fired." lol I'm more terrified of success than I am of failure. I am super stressed over the huge changes. Once that fades away, I should be ok. More money to use my discount with! :-D

I think that's mostly it for now... Here are some pics! )

11:06 am - Grate nooz, I haz it!
So... My general manager comes in the store tonight, which was weird b/c he a.) lives an hour away (south end of the metro area, I live/work in the north end) and b.) NEVER comes in the store, especially not after business hours. And he comes in and goes "So, how do you like your job?" and I told him "I love the job, I hate the drama." And he says "I can alleviate some of that. How would you like to be the manager of the MWC store with the option to transfer back here when Sara leaves?" So... I am now Queen o' the Dildoes. :-DDDDD Well, as of Sept. 3. SQUEEEEEEE!

9:20 am - Update, kind of
Ok, so mostly it's just an image heavy post with light update details. LOL We're doing ok here. Things with Chris are the same as they've ever been, I think I just don't care as much any more. The girls are good. Getting HUGE... :( Caty is now at the stage where she copies everything you say, which is fun. I'm just waiting till she pops off with "Dammit, girls!" She's saying I love you now, which comes out "alolu" and is absolutely adorable. Ella starts kindergarten in about 2 1/2 weeks... (Good lawd I feel old. :( When did she get so big??)She's so smart. She's very creative. She's always drawing. The girls have started this disgustingly cute habit of singing together. Constantly. It gets old fast, but they have so much fun with it, so I never say anything. LOL They play very well together. I'm happy they get along so well for now. And now: PICS!!! :D Warning: Super Image Heavy )

Enjoy! :)

12:21 am - Nazi ass baking community...
So I was a member of the lj comm bakebakebake (no idea how to use the link thing) b/c they occasionally have very tasty recipes and whatnot available, and being a fat kid, it is not only my right but my duty to check 'em out. Well apparently recently there was some big drama about somebody going to a snarkboard and posting something about this community and they made some post about how you couldn't snark about their board unless you wanted to be kicked. Well whatever. So today, I go to post a question about how to use raw cacao nibs for baking, as we got some from Chris's boss's wife and apparently now all posts are moderated, and the fuckers REJECTED my post. It was a SIMPLE question! If I can't ask that there, what the hell good is the community? I've seen other similar questions in the past... Morons. I hate people. :) And I'm pms'ing.

12:47 pm - Le sigh.
So... we took the girls up to my mom yesterday. She was supposed to keep them last night b/c she kept my sister's heathens Friday night. She was going to head back to Amarillo today to go back to work and was going to drop them off on her way back. So we get there yesterday and she's sick. Like really sick. Swollen, and itchy and coughing and hacking worse than I've ever heard her. So, I finally put my foot down and have Chris take the girls to his parents for the day and tell my mom that we're going to Urgent Care. So I get her dressed and take her in. They give her some shots and breathing treatments and do a chest x-ray. There's a spot on her lung that they *think* is pneumonia. All well and good, except... my grandma had "pneumonia" three times and then died of lung cancer. *sigh* My mom has been a heavy smoker for 30 years. And she's right at the age that they think my grandma's cancer started. And there's significant family history. She goes back in a week to have it rechecked. God I hope it's just pneumonia. I know she isn't perfect and half the time I can't fucking stand her, to be honest, b/c she has a tendency to play favorites and I've never been her favorite, but she's my mom. What will I do without her? I am trying hard not to get ahead of myself, but... it's hard.

And then on top of that, Chris and I spent the day fighting after we left my parents house.

How much more can I possibly take?

1:51 pm - Why Don't 4 Year Old's Solve More of the World's Problems?
Four year old children come up with some of the best solutions for life's problems. Example: Caty has had these weird red bumps all over her body since Friday. They've been slowly spreading, and she's been sleeping ALL the time. So I finally decide this morning that it's *not* ant bites/allergic reaction/one of the plagues listed in Revelations and take her to the dr. (She wasn't terribly fussy over the weekend, didn't seem to be itchy or in pain, just slept a lot). Sooo... We take her to the dr this morning. Ella says to me "Mom, am I going to have a polka dot baby sister forever?" to which I reply "No, she won't be a baby forever." LOL (Mother of the year, I know.) And Ella says "Well, I don't want a polka dot sister. You better give her polka dot go away medicine." This answer is BRILLIANT. Why didn't *I* think of that?! The fact that said medicine doesn't exist could prove slightly problematic...

The polka dots turned out to be chicken pox, btw. Caty, Mommy's little Overachiever (now who does THAT sound like), decided to get chicken pox 3 months before she was even due for her vaccination. GO CATY! lol Fluids, sleep, nothing to really do for it, give it two weeks, etc.

And in other news, Ella started school today. No, I didn't cry. It was all I could do to keep from leaping in mind-boggling joy. She was so excited. She looked so big, standing there in that classroom. I didn't even get a "Bye, Mom!" though she did say "Call your mother and tell her to bring my backpack before she goes back to Hodessa" (She means Odessa, which is not even where my mother lives anymore but you can't convince Ella of that.)

And... I think that's it for now. :)
